The struggle is real. We get it. Sometimes you just need a little support around mealtime or need to connect with like-minded individuals. That’s why we’re here. We provide a safe supportive environment for those in recovery from an eating disorder to have meal support and community with one another. ThrivED Together is a safe place to do the hard work around eating. ThrivED Together is rooted in empathy, connection, courage, and support. We heal when we can be seen and heard. We heal with others.
We would love to have everyone that needs help join us at our table, but we are just not a good fit for some people. We’ve created a few guidelines to consider about yourself before joining us.
- You are working on your recovery from an eating disorder but are struggling with the meal portion and need extra support.
- You currently have a therapist and/or dietitian who feel you need consistent meal support, but not necessarily a higher level of care.
- You have made some progress in your recovery but are stuck around the food and eating aspects in your life.
- You want to practice eating with others (social) and/or venturing out with food choices.
If you aren’t sure, just email or give us a call. We are happy to do a brief phone assessment to see if you might fit!
While we offer a supportive meal environment, we aren’t intended to replace treatment or a level of care that requires hands on guidance. We believe there is a behavior struggle amongst those on the path to recovery from an eating disorder and we are here to fill that gap. We strive to normalize eating in social settings and build a community with one another that is safe and supportive. We are here to walk side by side for as long as you need us on your recovery journey.
So, what really happens during a meal?
We know this takes courage and we want to make you as comfortable as possible, so we’ve tried to outline what exactly to expect when you walk in our doors for a meal.
The first step is simply showing up! It might sound cliché, but it really is true. Everyone walking through our doors is making a choice towards recovery and against their eating disorder. We don’t take that lightly, and we are here to support and encourage your own personal journey.
To make the meal support process easier and more comfortable, we worked hard to create an inviting and warm space to welcome you into. Our space is homey, comfortable, and intentionally thoughtful. We wanted a space where you can come and be yourself, let out a giant exhale, and do the hard things.
Get started with us:
- Sign up online and reserve your seat at a meal.
- Show up with your food at your mealtime.
- Be authentically you.
- Do the best you can for you, not for us.
You bring the food that matches your meal plan, and each meal is overseen by an LPC or Dietitian trained to support you around mealtime. We aren’t here to ensure you eat 100% of your meal, although, we would expect that you are bringing food appropriate to satisfy your meal plan requirements and that your goal is to eat it all.
We are here to encourage you, to help normalize your relationship with food and eating with others. Our approach is laid back and we strive to foster a real connection with one another.
ThrivED Together was founded because we believe recovery from an eating disorder is possible. We want to see you thrive. We are an outpatient provider of meal support and events. We are a great supplement to your existing team of therapists, dietitians, and/or psychiatrists. Events are another important aspect for ThrivED. We believe you heal in community and the events help to build that community.
Events are social settings with other people that are at any phase of recovery from an eating disorder. Many of our event attendees do not need meal support, but they come to be a part of the community. Events are intended to build confidence, connection, and courage in a fun, educational, or charitable way. Our events page is always updated, and events are free to attend!
We are an inclusive establishment, rooted in empathy, connection, courage, and support for all. We believe that treatment should be affordable so we’ve intentionally priced our plans accordingly; however, we’ve also partnered with ProjectHEAL for those that may not be able to afford a plan we offer.
Every person’s recovery journey is unique. We would love to be a part of your journey to healing your relationship with your body and food. Recovery is a process of love and acceptance that requires courage. It is a journey to wholeness.
