Miss America Kirsten HaglundKirsten Haglund
Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center – Community Relations Specialist

Kirsten struggled with anorexia and made eating disorders her platform while competing and becoming Miss America . She focuses on eating disorders in entertainment media, the fashion and beauty industries, and with the many young women who look to Miss America as a role model. She reinforces that women have the right and responsibility to define beauty on their own terms and to love and respect themselves and their bodies. She worked with the Eating Disorders Coalition, to lobby Congress for the passage of Mental Health Parity. She has helped expose the dangerous reality of eating disorders via interviews with EXTRA, Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and SHAPE magazine.

The Kirsten Haglund Foundation for eating disorders is a non-profit organization which provides financial assistance to people seeking treatment for eating disorders.  Kirsten joined Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center as Community Relations Specialist in 2011 and became an ambassador for NEDA in 2012.
