Mirasol Eating Disorder Recovery Centers

Mirasol is a residential center dedicated to integrative treatment of anorexia, bulimia and compulsive eating. We believe that eating disorders are the result of chronic stress and possibly trauma, and emphasize therapies that have proven successful in the treatment of other stress-related conditions.  Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of psychiatrists, psychotherapists, nurses, doctors and dietitians who workclosely with practitioners of alternative medicine, including acupuncture. neurofeedback, bodywork, Oriental medicine, EMDR, Somatic Therapies, Energy Psychology (EFT), yoga, meditation, Zuzi Dance, The Gym, and adventure therapies.

Mirasol clients rediscover normal eating with individual meal plans, organic and whole foods (when possible), and guidance from our staff dietitians.  Instead of focusing on suppressing eating disorder symptoms, we identify the root of the problem and develop new ways of communicating and coping that restore and maintain overall balance. We believe that the skills we teach are more effective and longer lasting than restrictive protocols, and provide the opportunity to practice those skills in a safe environment that supports change.  Small, intimate residences (limited to a maximum of 10 clients) inTerritorial-style homes in southern Arizona’s fabulous Sonoran Desert provide a secure and serene environment for healing.
