Detroit Health Department – Behavioral Health Program
The City of Detroit Behavioral Health Program is dedicated to supporting the mental and behavioral health of all Detroit residents. While primarily focused on substance abuse and misuse, the department also runs a crisis helpline, offers programs broadly aimed at mental and behavioral health support, and may be able to assess issues and offer referrals for appropriate treatment programs.
313 HOPE Detroit
313 HOPE Detroit is a subset of the city's Behavioral Health Program. It's home to a number of behavioral and mental health services, including training and educational courses for all residents. Individuals or families may also be connected to local programs, where they can participate in community art activities and receive counseling, case management, and recovery support.
Harm Reduction Wellness Stations
Harm reduction wellness stations are not aimed at helping with eating disorders, but they can assist with substance abuse issues, which frequently co-occur with eating disorders. Launched by the Detroit Health Department, the stations are located throughout the city and offer access to naloxone (Narcan) kits, fentanyl test strips, medication deactivation pouches, and other potentially life-saving supplies.
