About Kelsey Dawson Psy.D., HSPP
When I think about how our concerns arise, I believe our relationships and roles we have throughout our life shape how we think about ourselves, and how we behave and interact with each other and the world (i.e. CBT and Interpersonal). In session, I'm eclectic in that I use a lot of approaches (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT, interpersonal) that I feel may resonate best with you, whether that be due to presenting concern(s), personality, etc.
When we work together we’ll discuss your concerns and how it’s impacting your life. We’ll focus on building both insight and skills to help you create the change you’re looking for. While we may discuss difficult topics and have impactful conversations in session, I believe a lot of change happens between the times that we meet. I often give something to do/try/think about in-between sessions. I find that honest feedback from you on those skills or ideas is important, and while that can be easier said than done, I find that the most successful sessions are ones where we are both honest with each other.
