Sierra Tucson’s serene, 160-acre campus is located in the beautiful high desert of Tucson, Arizona. Our facility is a safe and welcoming place where adults who have developed co-occurring eating disorders receive customized care in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.

In the decades since we opened our doors in 1983, our facility has become a recognized leader in the use of integrative therapies in behavioral healthcare.
Our commitment to integrative therapies means that we develop comprehensive, unified treatment plans that address the cognitive, behavioral and physiological aspects of co-occurring eating disorders and other mental and behavioral health concerns.
Throughout a person’s time at Sierra Tucson, they are encouraged to work in active collaboration with the members of their multidisciplinary treatment team, with the goal of becoming empowered to advocate on their own behalf and take ownership of their ongoing recovery.

Individual therapy, multiple types of group therapy, equine therapy, expressive arts therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), somatic experiencing, trauma-informed lectures
To address the physical impact of co-occurring eating disorders and help clients develop a healthier relationship with their body, our services include:
Round-the-clock access to medical and nursing care, physical examinations, consultation with a personal trainer, physical therapy, hydrotherapy, biofeedback and neurofeedback, yoga, acupuncture and massage.
To address the behavioral component of co-occurring eating disorders and help clients feel more comfortable when shopping for food, cooking and eating, we offer:
Consultation with a registered dietitian, guided meal planning and meal support, supervised outings to restaurants and coffee shops, education about shopping for healthy foods, instructional cooking sessions in our demonstration kitchen, postmeal psychoeducational groups, intuitive eating groups
Multidisciplinary Treatment Teams
When an adult receives treatment for a co-occurring eating disorder at Sierra Tucson, they work closely with a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals, including both clinicians and medical personnel.
Our clinical team includes licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs), licensed professional counselors (LPCs), national certified counselors (NCCs), licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), licensed associate substance abuse counselors (LASACs) and licensed independent substance abuse counselors (LISACs).
One of the many features that differentiate Sierra Tucson from other mental health treatment providers is the size of our medical team. Our staff of medical professionals includes psychiatrists, medical doctors (M.D.s), doctors of naturopathic medicine (N.M.D.s), doctors of osteopathic medicine (D.O.s), physician assistants (PAs), nurse practitioners (NPs) and registered nurses (RNs).
Continuing Care
Taking part in residential treatment for a co-occurring eating disorder can be a vital step on a person’s path to improved health. But we realize that the time a person spends at Sierra Tucson is just one part of their recovery journey.
To ensure that our clients have the support they need to maintain and build on the progress they make while they are in our care, we offer several aftercare support services.
Prior to transitioning out of our care, all clients receive a discharge plan to guide their continued progress. This customized document contains information about the professional services and community-based resources that may be of value to them in the months and years after their time with us.
Adults who receive care for a substance use disorder and a co-occurring eating disorder at Sierra Tucson are eligible for a full year of aftercare support at no additional charge through the Connect365 program. Connect365 uses a HIPAA-compliant online platform to connect clients with a variety of recovery support services, including secure messaging with a recovery coach.
Also, every person who completes treatment at Sierra Tucson immediately becomes eligible for lifelong participation in our alumni program.
Features of the Sierra Tucson alumni program include continuing care groups, support groups, an annual alumni retreat, online information and encouragement, and the opportunity to share support with a nationwide network of other adults who are also working to maintain their recovery from a co-occurring eating disorder.
