Residential Counselor

New Dawn is opening a professional residential treatment home for adults with eating disorders. We are looking to fill several residential counselor positions. We have overnight “awake” positions from 8pm-8am. We also have daytime positions on weekends from 8am-8pm. Job responsibilities (depending on shift) include monitoring residents, enforcing house rules, supervising activities, assisting with medication, hourly bed checks, light cleaning, some filing, and transporting to appointments. CPR training required. CNA’s encouraged to apply. Those with psychology and mental health background also encouraged to apply. Opportunities to participate in treatment team meetings and be on-call for other shift openings are also available. We are accepting applications for Full-time and Part-time positions. Nurse Practitioner, NP/Program Manager

HOURS: 32-40 hours per week plus on-call pager (Flexible Schedule)

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to assist our Medical Director and our staff Psychiatrist with providing medical and psychiatric assessments and treatment at our soon to be opening residential eating disorders treatment facility in Marin County. Other job responsibilities will include maintaining an on-call pager, management and training of overnight/weekend staff, and assisting with utilization reviews with insurance companies.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid California RN license.
  2. Valid California Nurse Practitioner License.
  3. Experience with mental health population. Preference given to candidates with experience treating eating disorders.
  4. Strong leadership, team building and communication skills; some flexibility around hours and days of work.

The Center for Discovery & Adolescent Change is beautiful and professional six bed residential facility for adolescents struggling with eating disorders. We are looking to fill the following positions at our Menlo Park (Northern California) location.

PHYSICIAN

A Board Certified / Eligible Pediatrician is needed part time to oversee the medical needs of each resident. Applicants who have completed a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine or who have previous experience working with patients with Eating Disorders is a plus.

Responsibilities consist of but are not limited to:

  • Approving clients for admission based on medical criteria.
  • Performing initial assessments when clients enter the program
  • Performing EKG's and Phlebotomies
  • Administering vaccines
  • Meeting weekly, face to face, with each resident
  • Attending weekly treatment team meetings
  • Working in tandem with a comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Being available by telephone for any medical issues that may arise

MENTAL HEALTH THERAPIST

Seeking a FULL TIME Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Social Worker or Psychological Assistant (registered with the California Baord of Psychology) to work Monday through Friday. Clinical Director and Program Director

Eating Disorder Center at Focus Health of TN

Clinical Director needed to over see an established 24 bed substance abuse treatment program and new 16 bed residential treatment program for women struggling with eating disorders, opening date 3/10/08 in Chattanooga, TN. The program is based on a wellness and whole person approach to include education, cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, experiential therapies, yoga, meditation, nutritional wellness and process therapies.

Candidates will have extensive experience with anorexia, bulimia, compulsive overeating, exercise addiction, mental health issues, family systems, emotional trauma, team management, program development, intake, aftercare, business development, case management, utilization review and dual diagnosis. Knowledge of substance abuse and the interaction with eating disorders required and must be a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist. Those trained in EMDR, psychodrama, art therapies and DBT will be given special consideration.

The Clinical Director will be responsible for managing the clinical, intake and utilization review departments and will work directly with the Administrator, Executive Director, Director of Nursing and the Director of Marketing and must be a team player.

Additionally, we are seeking a Program Director for the eating disorders program. We are looking for an experienced clinician to supervise our team in the development and implementation of a new program for eating disorders. Candidates will be extremely knowledgeable about eating disorders, have experience in clinical supervision, staff training, program development, dual diagnosis and emotional trauma.

Masters degree or above is required, certified eating disorders specialists and those who are licensable by the state on TN are preferred for either position.

The Eating Disorder Day Treatment / PHP Program at Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment in Long Beach, CA is seeking full time primary therapists.
