Sonya has been a psychotherapist for over 15 years, specializing in the treatment of all eating disorders, self injury, trauma, and the anxiety and depression that often accompany them. She has experience working with people of all ages at inpatient and outpatient facilities as well as in private practice.
Sonya's high level of clinical skill (integrating cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, relational, family systems, and energy psychologies) combine with compassion and understanding to create a safe, empathic atmosphere where each person can begin to face the challenges necessary for overcoming their eating behaviors. Her expertise lies in helping individuals understand the underlying psychological components of their behavior and developing healthier alternatives, resulting in increased self confidence and a more fulfilling intentional life.
