New Dawn is the only eating disorders treatment facility in Northern California that offers the full continuum of care for eating disorders recovery, from Residential Treatment, to Day Treatment, to our Intensive Outpatient Program and outpatient services. Each level of care utilizes a multidisciplinary approach with individualized treatment plans that address the medical, psychological, nutritional, and interpersonal needs of each patient. Our outpatient programs located in Sausalito are sensitive to the schedule demands of each person, with group offerings at different times of the day. New Dawn Eating Disorders IOP is developed for clients who require a significant addition to outpatient treatment in order to lessen their eating disorder symptoms. The IOP schedule is tailored to fit individual treatment and schedule needs. Most often, participants begin the program by attending 4-5 days per week and taper down to 3 days per week as they make progress toward recovery. A typical IOP day consists of one 90-minute psychotherapy group and one 90-minute Meal Group. IOP participants also receive weekly individual psychotherapy and nutritional counseling sessions. Family psychotherapy is provided as needed. The IOP provides comprehensive treatment while allowing the client to retain autonomy in her normal day-to-day activities. Length of time involved in IOP varies based on individual treatment needs but is typically between 12-15 weeks.
