Why Oliver-Pyatt Centers for Comprehensive Treatment?
A Highly Individualized Treatment Plan: "We Meet You Where You Are"
We know that each client comes to treatment with a unique mix of psychological and medical concerns, and with unique life circumstances, fears, goals, and motivations. While one client might begin treatment with an ability to do whatever is necessary to recover, another might begin with ambivalence, uncertain that true recovery is even a possibility.
Regardless of where you fall on that continuum, that is where we begin, with no judgment, and no expectation that your recovery will follow a set path.
Daily One-on-One Therapy Sessions
High frequency individual therapy allows you and your therapist to fully explore the core issues driving the eating disorder. It creates an environment which validates each individual's needs and worth, so that authentic and long-term recovery can occur. Many treatment centers are able to provide the structure needed to support normal eating during treatment, but unless these core issues are addressed, the client is at risk for returning to the eating disordered behavior once she leaves treatment.
An Intimate Environment with a High Staff-to-Client Ratio

Located in a beautiful residential neighborhood in South Miami, we are a comprehensive treatment center set in an environment with the warmth of a home. We have a maximum of ten clients in our comprehensive program, with a staff-to-client ratio among the highest found in any program.
Supported Exposure Therapy in a Naturalistic Environment
This approach allows you to reintegrate into real life through daily, guided outings into the community once you have reached an appropriate stage in the recovery process. Together, we experience restaurants, shop for clothing, and manage urges to over-exercise, all while supporting the unique needs of your body, mind, and spirit. This allows you to generalize what you experience in treatment into daily life. Food and meals are managed in a naturalistic way, with a focus on mindful eating. Meals are not served on a tray in a cafeteria; rather, they are served in an intimate setting, and always with staff support.

Unlike other programs, our clients leave the treatment environment each evening to go to a comfortably furnished apartment, with staff support present to help them manage their recovery process. We provide a safe place that allows our clients the serenity to reconnect with their true selves, yet also provides a gateway into regular life as recovery proceeds.
A Medically Led, Therapeutically Grounded Program
An eating disorder is complex, and recovery requires the integrated approach of a multi-disciplinary team of professionals who are expert in its treatment. At Oliver-Pyatt Centers, the entire team — comprised of MDs, PhDs, Nutritionists, Therapists, Recovery Coaches, Yoga Instructors, Massage Therapists, and Chef—works together to create an effective treatment experience for each client.
